We have been married for over 7 years. We were high school sweethearts and our love grew from there. We always knew we wanted a family and were thrilled when we found out we were expecting the first time. Cohen joined our family and our life has never been the same!! Kendall joined us a little while later and we were amazed at how different girls can be from boys :) We have now added another little character to our zoo. We are so thankful for God's blessings and can't wait to see where He takes us.

Alger Heights 5K

This weekend was the 4th annual Alger Heights Halloween 5K. Cohen ran this race last year as his very first race!! This year he and Keith ran. It is a Halloween race so most (not all) participants wear a costume. It was super fun to see all of the creative ideas people come up with. Keith dressed up as Justin Verlander - pitcher for the Detroit Tigers. It was sooo funny to see all of the crowd come up to him and harass him about "his last poor pitching performance." - like he was the actual Justin Verlander :) Cohen dressed up as a red Power Ranger. Yes Power Rangers are making a come back! He was sooo excited to race but first we had to watch daddy. He also saw his school gym teacher - who by the way came in 3rd overall!!!! It was SOOOOO cold and I did everything I could to keep the kids warm. As soon as Keith was done - he did very well by the way - we went into the gym to get a little snack and warm up a bit. Then it was Cohen's turn. He did awesome and had a smile on his face the entire time :)

Recent Conversations

So there is not much to report on the zoo front. We are all doing well and enjoying these last few really nice days outside. Cohen is learning soooo much at school and it is sooo much fun to listen to all this new information coming out of his mouth. So I thought I would share some recent conversations that have taken place in our house.

While seeing a commercial for "Dancing with the Stars."
Cohen: Mom can I dance there.
Me: Sure Hun
Cohen: No I can't
Me: Why not?
Cohen: I need a girl to dance with. Maybe I will ask Jayde? ( a little girl I watch) But if she says no then I guess I will just ask Cadence. ( his girlfriend at school)

Last night Keith and Cohen talking before the World Series game
Keith: Who's going to win tonight? The Tigers or Giants?
Cohen: Giants
Keith: What?!!!! Well here's one - do you like black or blue better?
Cohen: Black
Keith: What?!!! Do you want to live here or on the streets?
Cohen: (pause) I guess the streets?
Keith: Yup :)

Kendall walking towards the door with one of Cohen's backpacks
Kendall: See ya mommy
Me: Where are you going Kendall?
Kendall: I go to school. See ya, have a great day, be a good girl!

Kendall with all of her babies lined up on the couch with their pants off with a diaper wipe in her hand

Kendall: Oh man! You are all stinky! Gotta clean you up!

I just love to see them growing up and listening to the things that are coming out of their heads!

Cohen's first field trip - down on the farm

Today was Cohen's first field trip!! He was soo excited and so was I when I found out it was on a Wednesday so I could volunteer and go along :) I left the girls with our favorite baby sitter and headed up to Cohen's school. When I arrived they were doing some coloring waiting for all of the volunteers to arrive. Then his teacher gave the parents a sheet of paper with directions and a couple of names of students that would be riding with them. I had a van of boys! They were definitely boys!! The entire ride to the farm was making farting noises and seeing what crazy faces they could make at each other :)
When we arrived at Mary's Critters we hopped out of the car and immediately were welcomed with smells of the farm. All of my boys just kept saying "Eww - it stinks" or "Look that animal is pooping." :) Mrs. Mary led the kids all over her farm and introduced us to all of her animals. I was amazed at how well the animals would listen to her. She would call them by name and they would come running to the fence and let all the kids pet them. After they met all the animals, Mrs. Mary gave each kid a cup of feed and they got to pick whatever animals they wanted to feed. It was cute to watch these kids stick out their hands with the feed and watch the animals eat off of them. Cohen gave a little to each animal rather quickly because he was anxious for the next part - riding the horses!!! He was a natural on that horse :) Some of the other kids however were a little more timid but I think all had fun. So here are a few pics of our day!!
